2015 -
is shaping up to be scary as heck. Recently new rules were implemented through legislation that is re-creating the housing industry lending bubble. Nobody I know realizes this except this time its being done with a Federal (taxpayer) guarantee. This means you and I will now be on the hook for the bad loans that J.P. Morgan and Citi Group are currently taking on in massive amounts. The last estimate was 60 trillion for J.P. and 70 trillion for Citi....to put this in perspective our total national debt/deficit is around 18 trillion, unfunded liabilities 150 trillion. All the printed money in the world, from every country amounts to something like 60 trillion....and we have two banks that just bought up high risk loans to the tune of 130 trillion???? All done with the US governments complicity... Where are the liberal wall street occupiers on this?? Isn't this the rich getting richer....or better yet...crony capitalism with taxpayer guarantees to insulate them from loss?? All under the purview of a liberal president who is supposedly for the "people". It just shows you how much is just doesn't matter who's in charge and that change is needed.
Well after a long winded rant about our "leaders" in Washington and the lobbyists that own them...
Its time to protect what you love so please:
1. Save money, invest in real tangible items (precious metals, real estate, any survival items) that can be used for selling/trading to feed you when things go to hell and inflation destroys our economy.
2. Store food (freeze dried) and water. Calculate 2000 calories/day per person for at least 6 months.
3. Get a generator and a small portable solar system with batteries that can handle a small refrigerator or freezer. With a cheap additive you can store 100 gallons of gas or diesel for several years. If you have the means, store enough to charge batteries once a day for a year, calculate your needs!
4. Store heirloom seeds for a garden, books on gardening if you are a novice.
5. Get a canning pot with jars and books to show how to can food.
6. Store bulk spices, vacuum seal dried spices.
7. Store fuel in any form for cooking (propane, white gas, fuel discs)
8. Invest in a small amount of survival gear typical of long hiking/dry camping in remote areas.
9. Invest in a mid sized EMT style first aid kit, get extra items recommended or likely used. Get a good first aid book to help with treatments such as simple fractures.
10. Lastly - Arm yourself and your loved ones. Everyone needs to learn how to use a handgun, shotgun, assault rifle and a hunting style scoped bolt gun. Get ammo for the guns you have and lots of it. This could save the lives of you and your loved ones when the people that have nothing come looking for what you have with the intention of taking it.
This looks like a lot but don't be intimidated! Most of us have a portion of this laying around our houses and garages. Just get what you have organized and start a list. Attack it one bite at a time and before you know it, you are going to be just fine and better prepared than you could have imagined when you started out.
Naysayers might say...oh...you'll never need this! You are a crazy prepper! What a waste of money!
Of the things you are storing, 90% can be used in everyday life. Little if anything will ever go to waste. Much like a tourniquet, if you have it and never need it - great!!!! If you need it and don't have it - you are screwed!!!
Don't be screwed, be safe.
Until next time -
